Abstract
Kekuni Blaisdell’s legacy is the ability to diagnose the condition of Native Hawaiians against a century of land displacement and American trauma, while at the same time restoring health and life, ea, to his beloved nation through his dedication to restoring independence to Hawai‘i. This tribute recounts a specific focus of Kekuni’s dedication—ensuring the perpetuation of Ka Lā Hoʻihoʻi Ea (Hawaiian Independence Day).
