Abstract
This article recaptures Hawaiian numerical mo‘olelo (stories, tales) through foundational Hawaiian language texts. While curricular trends normalize a narrow, standardized, western worldview of mathematics education, this critical ethnomathematic interrogation engages new perspectives and reaffirms our genealogical connections to rich cultural traditions of helu Hawai‘i (Hawaiian numeracy).
